As part of the SDI/Competitive Edge Research and Communications Barometer of Public Opinion and in partnership with www.keepcomingback.com. SDI released information on the smoking patterns of 500 adult San Diegans. The survey found that:

• The vast majority think that smoking is extremely or very harmful to one's health
• Have a difficult time quitting, even though they believe that they are harming their health
• Start smoking early - with the majority of smokers saying that they started smoking before the age of 18.
• Largely support bans on smoking in public places
